My “Easy” Cancer, Part 3

Dermatologist appointment day…

… a quick visual with magnifying glass… three needle sticks to the nose (not pleasant)… quickly numbed… punch biopsy… sutured closed… bandage applied… all took less than five minutes.

Doctor casually mentioned possible Basal Cell or Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Wound care instructions given…

Suture removal scheduled ten days out…

One to two weeks for the pathology report to arrive…

If benign, I will get a postcard in the mail.

If cancer, I will get a call from the doctor.

More days and hours to ruminate about the best and worst that can happen.

How many days and hours I’ll have to wait I do not know.
